Orlando City signs deal to stream on YouTube TV

Orlando City has entered into an exclusive agreement with YouTube TV for live streams of its matches, the club announced Thursday.
The deal includes a newly created channel dedicated to Orlando City, which will broadcast 18 matches. The first live stream will be of the May 6 match against Real Salt Lake at home.
“Our fans are constantly on the move, using different devices and consuming our sport through a variety of channels that fit their lifestyles, and we want to keep pushing the boundaries, giving them opportunities to connect with our team from anywhere,” Orlando City’s Chief Revenue Officer Chris Gallagher said in a news release.YouTube TV, Google’s effort to compete with cable television, made its Orlando debut in July, introducing live television programming from ABC, NBC, CBS, FOX, ESPN and other regional networks.
The service, which costs $40 per month, will also show eight nationally televised games on ESPN, FOX and FS1.
Orlando City’s matches will continue to be aired locally on Cox Media Group’s WRDQ TV27.
YouTube TV has more than 50 networks and allows users to watch on mobile devices, computers, tablets and Smart televisions.
Real Salt Lake, Seattle Sounders and Los Angeles FC are already streaming on YouTube TV.
Orlando City has so far enjoyed solid season, sitting in third place in the Eastern Conference by collecting 16 points through eight games.
