The television industry is in the midst of the biggest changes it has seen since birth. You can watch premium TV content on the internet via streaming services like Netflix, Amazon, Hulu and now HBO NOW. Social platforms like Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, Snapchat and reddit are transforming the way we connnect with our favorite moments and characters on TV. Smart TVs and connected devices are blurring the lines between television and the web. Traditional TV networks and cable companies are adopting new technologies and strategies to transform into digital empires.
Since 2009, in addition to being part of the team that’s grown the Shorty Awards and Muck Rack, I’ve covered this space and connected with the leading executives, producers and talent that are defining social TV and the future of the industry. There has always been potential to invest more resources, time and energy to more accurately capture all the changes, disruptions and innovations.
Today, in partnership with The Drum, Europe’s biggest marketing website I will be helping with their recent expansion into the US by creating Found Remote, the number one source for social TV news.
It’s impossible to understand the constant changes, innovations and improvements to the television industry without hearing from the leading networks, content providers, technology platforms and startups that are forcing innovation and disrupting. The second screen, OTT networks (Netflix, Amazon, Hulu, etc…), social platforms and more have transformed the way you consume TV. The remote you’ve been looking for to understand the future of TV has been found and will continue to be defined with the exclusive content, research, interviews with top executives and behind the scenes coverage.
