Chart Toppers

Ryan ToysReview held onto its first-place position on the U.S. chart for the fourteenth week in a row. The four-year-old’s YouTube destination for his playtime videos and unboxing footage dipped 12% in views to bottom out at over 147.9 million views on the week. In a distant second place is Toy Scouter. The bizarro channel with videos of adults dressing up in a variety of Disney and superhero costumes acting out a wide array of everyday and oddball scenarios scored just over 85 million views during the week.

Next up in third place is Justin Bieber. The international pop star’s YouTube library was down 9% on the week, but still amassed almost 71.6 million views. Close by in the #4 spot is Trap Nation. The YouTube channel for all your latest and favorite trap music received over 70.2 million plays in the week.

And rounding out the Top 5 is, once again, Calvin Harris. The Scottish multi-hyphenate musician’s YouTube channel dipped 16% in views to end the week just shy of 69.9 million.

Top Gainers

The honor of one of our Top Gainers this week goes to ABC News.

It’s no surprise that in the week after the 2016 Presidential Election, the YouTube outpost of an American television network would have a very showing on the world’s largest video-sharing site. Thanks to tens of videos dedicated to the immediate beforehand and aftermath of the events on Election Day, ABC News’ channel shot up with a 150% week-over-week increase in views to almost 69 million views on the week and the #6 spot on the U.S. chart.

The top 50 most viewed U.S. YouTube channels this week amassed a total of 2,256,529,383 views. Here’s the distribution of a few of those channels by multi-channel network:

  • VEVO: 17 channels in the U.S. Top 50, with Justin Bieber the top-ranked channel of the network at #3.
  • Studio71: 3 channels in the Top 50, with FamilyFunPack at #11.
  • BuzzFeed, Maker Studios, Movieclips, WMG: 2 channels each in the Top 50, with BuzzFeed’s BuzzFeed Yellow at #25, Maker’s DisneyCarToys at #32, Movieclips’ Movieclips at #17, and WMG’s Fueled By Ramen at #12.
