YouTube Channel Manager
12 month fixed term contract
Guardian News and Media is looking for a YouTube Channel Manager to shape our video offering for the future, creating a network of channels around the Guardian’s core offering. This is the perfect opportunity for someone from a strong social media background with experience managing a YouTube channel and a passion for news to work with one of the biggest and best news brands in the world.
This role would suit a social media channel manager who has a passion for the Guardian and its values and how to develop a web video audience. You will ideally have worked within the industry and have an in depth understanding of how to run a YouTube Channel for an international brand and ideas of how to grow the channel subscribers.
You will have responsibility for uploading all video content for global and local markets as well as looking at the analytics behind the channel and providing insights and ideas and identifying potential influencers on the platform. Managing the editorial calendar for the channel and ensuring a seamless long term consumer journey, you will also identify consumer trends and ensure the brand stays at the forefront.
The role will also work with ‘Youtube’ and the content partners to unlock technology and optimise the platform.
The ideal candidate will have solid experience as a social media channel manager (preferably YouTube) and a clear passion for news, science, the environment and other core Guardian subjects. You will have a proven ability to manage the implementation of strategies and execute campaigns as well as significantly growing channel subscription.
Your ability to generate and transform creative ideas into a practical reality, and to produce creative solutions to problems are vital as well as the ability to work under pressure.
