YouTube music growing 60 percent faster than all other streaming services combined


According to statistics compiled by industry sales tracking system Nielsen SoundScan, YouTube took in 60.6 percent more streams than all audio-only services—free or paid—in the first half of 2015. That statistic includes Spotify, TIDAL, Apple Music, Rhapsody, Rdio, Xbox Music, Cricket (Muve) and Google Play, but not Pandora.

YouTube tallied over 76 billion music video streams, while all other audio-only services came in at just under 59 billion streams. As Digital Music News reports, that is a difference of 18 billion songs.

Despite YouTube still managing to out-stream everyone, streaming in itself is skyrocketing. Music streams are up 92.4 percent to 135.2 billion in the first half of 2015.
