YouTube now allows users to share videos, as well as chat with friends, within the YouTube mobile application.
With this release, users can share videos directly with their YouTube contacts by tapping the share button on a video and selecting the recipient(s). Each new video a user shares starts a conversation within the app, which can be found under the app’s new “Shared” tab.
Once in a conversation, users can reply with additional videos and “heart” messages, as well as invite other users to the conversation .
In a blog post, Benoît de Boursetty, product manager at YouTube, commented:
We’ve been experimenting with a better way to share videos on YouTube since last year. Thanks to all your feedback, we made some improvements and are now ready to roll out this new sharing feature to all users globally.
While this feature is not yet available for all users, when a user who has the feature sends a video to someone without the Shared tab, the feature will be activated for them, as well.
